Ah, well...

After a couple of vaguely promising open houses, last week we had one returning person to start class. And this week none.

It's not a loss though...we have good momentum with class 60, and more time to spend workshopping with them. Tonight was good energy with only the announcements as a break. Calling for 3 1/4 hours pretty much straight does work. I made a concerted effort to write down couples tonight, since after about the 3rd tip, I can't remember who is who. I discovered that the reason I had stopped writing down key couples was that I couldn't see (or read) what I had written anymore without putting on my reading glasses, and I don't like calling with them on...

During C1, we discussed the possibility of starting lessons on Mondays again. It's been forever since we had a C1 class, and there's probably six in the general Albuquerque crowd (2 gay, 4 straight) that might be interested in doing a prolonged lesson/review class from 6 to 7. The rest of the group was all for it.

Danny's been having painful headaches a lot recently. I'm getting worried that it's more than just the nerve pinching from the sciatica.

Has Danny been to a neurologist recently? Painful headaches can be a symptom of many things. People are often nervous about visiting a specialist as scary sounding as a neurologist.

It can also be a sign of something else. David (my partner) has been having a lot of headaches lately, I've got him checking his blood sugar now to see if that is the cause.

He has had lots of different test over the past couple of years, but nothing has been obvious, except that he has low oxygen count in his blood. According to his doc, he never adjusted to the 5200' altitude here. Danny's not shy about going to doctors, which is good.

I like Danny's attitude about doctors. Good wishes for real answers.

Should we enlarge one of Andy's charts to one-per-page and have you write on it with a Sharpie-sized pen? Then you woudn't have to wear your glasses. Just remember to crumple each one up after you're through with it so that identifiers like "fat butt" and "bad skin" and "disgusting rug" don't get seen by the wrong people. ;-)

See, I'm just FULL of helpful advice!!

Solution => bi-focals. I'm told that once you adjust, it's much easier / less frustrating. Of course there's the natural resistance to it as well...

Oh, I have bi-focal reading glasses! I'm just really really vain! Didn't ya know? ;-)

Years ago, I briefly dated someone that was mid-50s and he had reading glasses in every room of his house. I laughed about it, but I'm the same way now...Danny's always finding a pair here or there depending on where I lay them.

After this September's attempt at a new Basic class which didn't happen, we're trying again tonight. I hope both our next attempts will be fruitful!
