Danny and I are both feeling mildly irritable lately, but I'm sure it'll pass. Probably just the come-down from the Thanksgiving holiday trip. We travel well together.

This coming Saturday and Sunday are more non-weekends for us, since I'm glutted with yardwork coming up on Saturday, then meetings for most of Sunday. Sigh.

The past two nights I've gone to bed at 10pm, actually BEFORE Danny, which is an oddity in itself. I've been totally drained...hope this isn't the beginnings of the crud that seems to be going around.

Had another minor a-fib episode on Thanksgiving night, which was a surprise since they only happened every five or six years apart before. Woke bolt upright at 12:30am with the racing, sloshy heart. Turning on the light in the motel woke Danny, so he was up like a shot, too. This time, I took two aspirins and one Diltiazin and opted not to go to the ER for this one.

Within about 90 minutes, my heartrate had dropped from the 120s to the 70s, so I was able to fade off to sleep, although I still had the a-fib. Woke somewhat groggy the next morning, but the a-fib was gone. Hooray! It was probably the combination of the meals during the day and the several drinks later that evening. Silly me should know better.

Plowed through an entertaining Robert Parker novel in two sittings. It's always nice to read for pleasure. Started on another Patricia Cornwall book, "The Last Precinct." I had actually read her latest one a few months ago, so I'm backtracking to get some of the Scarpetta history.

Have you had your sleep test already? Or is that coming up?

Dec 28. When I was in Louisiana, I saw a squib on TV that there is a new very minor surgical procedure that has three some-sort-of-metallic small pins put into the soft palette at the back of the throat. They supposedly tighten up the palette and reduce snoring by 90% and stop the need for a CPAP machine. I'm going to investigate that, if it would cure the stop-breathing thing, too. The 5 minute procedure costs $2500 though! Jeez!
