Choral stress
Dec. 12th, 2005 02:28 pmYesterday afternoon, I worked about two hours on our music for the upcoming concert, then went to the 3 hour final rehearsal last night. I worked on the music between finishing up the house decorating for the holidays...
Overall, I'd say we're about 75% ready for our first concert in Santa Fe on Wednesday night. Occasionally, all the notes sound like we know what we're doing. I hope the audience is forgiving. :( This is in the Unitarian church there where we've always performed when we do Santa Fe.
We have a suddenly scheduled tech rehearsal on Thursday, but of course I can't go since I do the C/W lessons. The Friday performance is at Sandia Prep School theatre, a nice venue with a real stage and lighting, run by GCA's own Tim McNamara. Sunday is at Monte Vista Christian Church, not too far from the house, and is the least conducive to concerts, but the price must be very right.
And then no more chorus till I decide to go back someday!
