Hanging on to old stuff
Dec. 23rd, 2005 08:37 pmSome of my early square dance acquisitions in the back of the stairwell storage:
- 1960's Newcomb Speaker (34 pounds...a bear to move around and I lost the (now unavailable) speaker stand hook in 1985). Has a great sound with excellent bass!
- 1960's Newcomb record case with nauga-wood vinyl covering (20 pounds, outgrew this in 1984). When filled with 45s, it weighed about 50 pounds, but except for fire, appears indestructible.
- Inexpensive microphone with reverb (a gift from ex #1, only used once)
- 25 Reel-to-Reel C2 dance tapes, circa 1972 (given to me by the previous keeper of the C2 archives before I started the C2 group here in 1995). Virtually unusable for dancing, since the list has changed hugely.
All to be donated to the Albuquerque Square Dance Center. Won't they just love that!
