Denver tomorrow
Feb. 16th, 2006 08:40 amWe're leaving about 9:30 tomorrow morning to head for Denver...a 7 hour trip to Mark and Karen's sumptuous casa, with a downstair dance hall that will easily accomodate 5 squares.
It's the Rainbeau's 22nd anniversary dance, three dances actually scatter over the weekend (but the C2 on Sunday is cancelled). I can always remember which number it is, since they're 1 year younger than the Wilde Bunch. Our 23rd is March 20, the actual date Don Durham first had dancers gather together for lessons at Adam's Den on Central in 1983. Ironically, Adam's Den is now a gun shop.
Not looking forward to this drive in particular. The high tomorrow is supposed to be a frigid 19 in Denver, with 30% of continuing snow flurries. The joke has always been that if they want snow, they just ask Bill Eyler to come up to call! This will be a shock to the system, since it was a windy 67ish here yesterday.
Last night was bizarre. At 11:30, after falling asleep on the sofa upstairs, I woke up with my heart pounding and headed to the kitchen for a glass of water before I headed to bed. And fainted. Literally. Danny came running in from the bedroom having heard a load of bricks (me) hit the floor and rescued me, taking me into the bedroom and finding the Cardizem for me. Another a-fib case, which took about an hour to tame down. This after just telling the heart doc that I hadn't had an episode in 5 weeks. No more Toblerone for me!

Date: 2006-02-16 06:23 pm (UTC)At that time, if I stood up too quickly, my vision would get a little fuzzy around the edges and then clear, so when that started this time, I just waited for it to go away. When my vision finally cleared, I was on the floor.
Nobody heard me collapse. I was only out for a couple of seconds. I just got up and took out the trash.
