Trekked the 2 1/2 blocks tonight over the Kris' house to cut a rug with some C2. Same old gang!

Other than having to place Bob in position after about 1/2 the calls, him being 50% deaf and 100% blind now, it was a lot of fun. Too bad we'd never be able to get the wind in your hair feel though.

Kris was using some Barry Clasper material that had me bamfoozled...just couldn't see it. I did like the center triangle reverse swap around from a siamese line with the tandems in the middle. I'll have to ask Pam about the weird disconnected stuff that was in there that I had NEVER seen before; it certainly wasn't geared for the average C2 floor.

I didn't realize Barry was as evil with his C as Vic and Dave W are!

I do get a smiling satisfaction knowing that 4 of the 8 dancers, plus Kris, I taught their Basic Baby Steps lo those many years ago. I guess I could add Dodd B in there too having taught him Advanced, C1 and C2...he was one of the founders of the Wilde Bunch in '83, but hasn't danced with the club since about 1990.

It wasn't all Barry...and he reads your blog...

The sequence with the triangle reverse swap around was Ross Howell's. The disconnected things were Barry's.

As I wrote to Barry:
"After realizing that we really needed to workshop disconnected before doing the kinds of things you were doing, I jumped to another sequence, which happened to be from a Ross Howell tip. He had a triangle reverse swap around. At that point, I realized that I'd made a big mistake, and switched back to my material. Moral: don't use other people's material, but if you do, at least prepare it."

It's true; we'll never get a real dancing feel on Wednesday nights with the current group.

Actually, it's Pam that reads the blogs, and she let me a note that she was forwarding on to Barry. I'm glad you went through some of that stuff...it makes it much more interesting. Pam is an LJ reader and member, but I don't think she's ever posted anything since she's been on my friends list.

We had a short discussion a few months back on accomodation for dancers with disabilities.

If we had tried that material to tapes, it would have been a total disaster. I AM surprised about how much T-B stops to argue with you on some of this arcane stuff! :-)
