More culchah

billeylerWe're heading to the Vortex Theatre tonight to see Hal Simon in the one man show, "I Am My Own Wife." Hal plays 35 different characters in the show, all very German WWII type stuff from what I understand. The Vortex is a black box theatre with maybe 80 rearrangeable seats. Usually someone (like Hal) is a principal in their shows that I know very well. It's a bit hard at times separating the character on stage from the person I know in real life, but if the story is gripping, I can.
That is, we're going if Danny gets over his headache that apparently kept him up most of the night. I slept like a log. Maybe he'll get some rest today...his massage therapist cancelled on him again. He's been spending too much time rewriting code for the IAGSDC website and other web projects, and it's probably eaten a hole in his brain.
Looking forward to the Oscar party on Sunday afternoon...the only time I've been interested in the shows in a very long time! I'm counting on Brokeback Mountain getting at least two winner envelopes out of the 8 noms. Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay. Most of the other awards are up in the air, but I don't feel them leaning toward BBM. The music should be err...'interesting' this year, with the moody, incomplete BBM music, a pimp song, a Dolly Parton song getting nods for best music. At least Beyonce won't be singing all of them...that was weird last year.
The weather calls for lots of outdoor time this weekend getting the garden cleaned up for the spring. Maybe I can start on my drip water project for the entire yard, and get the downstairs art hung and the room ready for the re-inaugural class-level C1 dance down there on March 12.
