Denver bound

billeylerWe're leaving for the 7 hour drive to Denver shortly. It's never a chore, since we have such good friends up there. I'd even consider moving there, if it weren't for the even colder winter weather they have there than here.
We're taking the back highway up through the central valley on the west side of the mountains. It's always a shock to go through hours of lovely mountain countryside, top the mountain pass and hit the major freeways of Denver, but the drive is wonderful. Bill and Ralph are always fun and gracious hosts; it's always wonderful to see them since I've known them 21 years now.
Calling two dances there on Saturday; A2/C1 in the afternoon and MS/Plus in the evening, themed to "Wizard of Oz." Danny bought a Tin Man outfit online which of course doesn't fit properly, even though is says "Adult" on it. I'll make do with a witch's outfit of sorts. Then a morning C2 session at Karen and Mark, then back home.
Just got word that Nick Martellacci's contract for the Montreal Outgames Flyin has been cancelled, so we're all waiting to see if random callers are being dumped, or the whole square dance portion of the event is cancelled. I don't think they have many registered for it, and six callers is huge overkill, besides it being in Canada just a couple weeks after our own convention. My feelings won't be hurt if I'm cancelled out, but I did just get a note from the organizer a few days ago with a form to get passport info and timing for transportation and housing. We'll see.
