After sending out apology emails to all who were involved in my brief bad judgment during the Monday square from Hell, I'm done with the incident referred to earlier.

Danny's picking up Vic at the airport right now. The other six houseguests are all settled in. Tonight's the first night of the Wilde Bunch flyin, and we're all looking forward to it.

Just found out that the (paying) chorus gig we have on Sunday afternoon (that would cause me to miss part of the Sunday dancing) was cancelled, due to a misunderstanding. Oops! Oh, well. The 2 rehearsals we've spent most of the time working up the program won't get wasted...we're using most of that music for the December concerts. I just realized I need a chorus icon.

Good to hear that blew over. Balance with wonderful memories of the many times you've been appreciated for your work.

Well, *I* appreciate you, anyway! I must be missing something, but that's not unusual.

Square from Hell.

Isn't that the one sent up periodically to remind us that all the others are pretty good?

This one was different and caused a blown-out emotional response from the very bad dancers who have become friends with some of the "board" of the Wilde Bunch.

I was doing an 'up to speed' Mainstream workshop...about 6 minutes into the tip, where the dancers couldn't even do an allemande left from home spot, much less any other call (these were dancers that had theoretically finished Mainstream), I gave up, said that I can't workshop Mainstream anymore until we learned the basics, and called for a Plus square to come up.

Something about the scenario started a sequence of events that I wasn't aware of spiraling out of control, which is why I at that time wanted to wash my hands over it all.

All better now.

As I told someone tonight, I do try to remember my customer service training...if there's a problem caused with interpersonal stuff, it's up to me to work a solution rather than part of the problem. Ah, well.

Glad to hear that whatever was broken seems to be repaired.

It does seem impossible, though, to workshop something that people don't know at all.

I honestly can't imagine your being able to get anyone too upset; you seem far too genial. Could there be a dark side?!!

hehe...no, there's not really a dark side...really.

It's the other people's dark side I worry about.

I was literally asked to apologize to every single person in the one square that was there that I truncated.

Dysfunction? Yes. Solvable? Probably. Do I want to follow through? Likely, I have 23 years invested in this. Will it be weird? Probably. Will I survive? Certainly.
