More chorus stuff
Sep. 25th, 2007 11:21 amStarting to get a bit more comfortable with the music we're doing this term. Theoretically, we'll be getting rehearsal CDs to play to help us with our parts and tuning with the others away from our regular Monday rehearsals. I've decided not to organize sectionals for the Baritones and Basses if we have the CDs.
Last night felt more like a real rehearsal. We were back in our old open space upstairs, rather than the stuffy cramped stage-area of the sanctuary. We had a nice social/food break in the middle. It all still seems pretty short though, with 30 minutes less than before, plus late starts for warmup.
Last night, we were up to 13 at rehearsal. I know for sure there are at least 16 singing at the concerts, but Matthew says there are actually 20. I sure haven't seen all of those guys.
We have an opportunity for fundraising next month by lip-synching as the Tucson Gay Men's Chorus in a film being shot here...."Hamlet 2." I don't think I'll be able to do it though, so they'll have to find a lot of other warm bodies to lip-synch whatever it is they're doing. They require 12 hour days during the workweek, and I've already committed to 3 vacation days around the Sundance Stompeded in October. '
