Tumblin' tumbleweeds

Glancing over into the neighbor's yard this morning, I see a HUGE tumbleweed in the corner. I have no idea how it got there; this whole neighborhood is 'park-like' and the nearest open desert area is easily a mile away.

Someone took this YouTube clip from the Albuquerque's west side...the tumbleweed  in my neighbor's yard is probably twice as large.

Do you remember the episode of Outer Limits (the original TV series) that was about killer tumbleweeds? It gave me a nightmare the night I watched it. I must've had too much ice cream or something that night.

Wow...I absolutely don't remember that, but I'd love to see it. Thinking about that YouTube vid of the tumbleweed, I'm wondering if it was some kid that was thinking of making some video like that, but it didn't work out. Note the youngster walking towards the end of the street, not noticing the evil tumbleweed coming up on him!

Something that's bizarre about the building of subdivisions on the West Side...they all seem to be surrounded by walls, to keep the houses from being exposed to the street. Very alien.
