The zucchini, one month in. This is on the second level of the terrace; the 8 or so plants on the third level are only 1/2 the size, maybe from being more shaded. Bumper crop coming up!



Four O'Clocks...apparently they bloom more like 4am, than 4pm!



Two of the drought-tolerant plants you see all over the area, but whose names escape me at the moment. The purple-flowering one is actually quite invasive, with spreading roots that go everywhere! Both have extremely fragrant leaves and stems, probably a sage.

Nice pictures. As for the drought tolerant plants, we have the same type of plant in our front yard -- Russian Sage.

Also, what zucchini plant does not produce a bumper crop? ;) Seems like everyone I know who grows zucchini winds up with more than they can use. I guess creativity is the key.

I've ended up with NO zucchini in the past from the squash bug attacks, so hoping for lots of them this year.

Someone told me you can even cook the mature buds.
