A drowsy, dreamy day off from work with me absolutely vegetating, although I did mow the bit of grass in the back. Linda and Sarah took off to explore the museums at the University. Sarah (18) has a keen interest in anthropology, and the Maxwell Museum is exactly the resource she needs here.
We did reconnoiter for the evening. All four of us headed over to East Ocean Chinese Restaurant for a lovely sit-down dinner, then headed over to the Vortex Theatre. We snagged 4 tickets to Paul Rudnick's "I Hate Hamlet," of course forgetting that we had two-fer coupons in the Entertainment book at home. Well worth the $12 per person, though. Danny in particular was chortling during the play. Since it's a black box theatre, we were definitely in the very up-close-and-personal first row. A very fun frolic of show that inspired me to look up the life of John Barrymore this morning. Linda's view was that $90 for a dinner and show for 4 was amazingly inexpensive.
Looks like rain today (Saturday). The remnants are Hurricane Dolly are flowing right up through Arizona and NM.
