Turns out it was a 24-hour stomach virus that hit. It hit pretty hard; I was down the rest of the day except for a couple of brief periods my head wasn't spinning. All the nasty things happened as per the script. Last night, I was in and out of fevers, but it never got over 101. But after some decent rest, by noon today I was feeling like I could function reasonably well and spent a couple of hours catching up on the bookwork for the Albuquerque Square Dance Center (another part of my over-extended dysfunction).

Worked at work for about 3 hours this afternoon, and in spite of a couple of 'episodes' just after I got home, opted to go teach the C/W, promising myself that I'd go home if I started feeling illish. Danny is such a motivator. :-)

We had 24-26 people there for lessons tonight...it really is growing. Reviewed Basic 2-step, Electric Boogie, taught as new the Barn Dance, more Basic 2-step, Tush Push review, then ended with Waltz review. Lots of enthusiasm to keep this going, but don't know if I could commit to it if it stays on Wednesdays. I really would like to go back to singing in the Fall, and chorus starts again Weds after next.

Spoke a bit to Sean about the possibility of moving the lessons to Thursday from 7 to 9, just before Kareoke. I haven't been on Thursdays to know if they have anyone show up for that, but it would be a good lead-in. There were probably 50-60 people in the bar tonight, versus the 20ish the first Weds I taught.

I told Sean I'd contact Mike Haley, a professional dance instructor here in ABQ, if he might know of anyone willing to teach c/w on Weds, though. Danny and I talked about having to realign my mindset and workshops out of the progressive mode that square dancing (sorry Kris) is into the always have to start over from scratch mode.

Was reading with interest earlier the notes that [livejournal.com profile] bjarvis had on his frustration with calling. I haven't actually seen what he's going through in his efforts, so it's hard to give comfort and succor...

Why "sorry Kris"?

Just trying to figure out why you're apologizing to me for square dancing's "progressive" nature...or for realigning your mindset...or whatever...

Sorry you haven't been well lately... hopefully you'll be back to your bouncy self again in another day or so!

*hugs*
