billeyler | Carpets? Who needs em!

Our only project we had planned for Saturday was to continue shopping for carpet. We had gone to Home Depot and picked out carpet we *thought* we liked, but after getting the sample home, didn't at all. We had paid $50 for the carpet estimator to come out, which he did on Friday.

Another glitch? Gee, I can't imagine. The estimator measured the rooms in TWO sections. Turns out he was all afeared that the old kid's room linoleum in what's to be the walk-in closet had the dreaded asbestos in it; there's the possibility that the installers won't install tack strips into it because of the potential health risks (to them). Danny and I were both stunned. We can't take the lino up--it's solidly glued to the plywood underlay.

But in spite of that, Saturday we visited an enormous carpet showroom, bring home samples. We headed over to Lowe's to see what they had. Everything is of course special order, so it'll be weeks before we get whatever we choose install.

I'm all for a carpet that already looks lived in.
