So, I drop a note to Mark at his website, thanking him for the dances Saturday and let him know I'd be on the lookout for future gay square dance events that he might be a headliner for as 'entertainment'....

He actually writes back this evening, thanking ME, and to let me know that he spotted 'our' friend from Amarillo Harry TWICE on I-40 on the way back there, but they couldn't figure out which reststop to meet at. I thought Harry was making it all up!

I 'bout fell out of my seat here!

You have:
77% SCIENTIFIC INTUITION and
62% EMOTIONAL INTUITION
The graph on the right represents your place in Intuition 2-Space. As you can see, you scored above average on emotional intuition and well above average on scientific intuition.Your scientific intuition is stronger than your emotional intuition.

Your Emotional Intuition score is a measure of how well you understand people, especially their unspoken needs and sympathies. A high score score usually indicates social grace and persuasiveness. A low score usually means you're good at Quake.

Your Scientific Intuition score tells you how in tune you are with the world around you; how well you understand your physical and intellectual environment. People with high scores here are apt to succeed in business and, of course, the sciences.

So here we've paid out the big bucks for this ultra-decadent RSVP cruise starting 9/3, and finally get our travel packets last week.

Tuesday night we sit down and spend an hour or so looking over the available side trips you can make, all at significant cost of course. We agree on the shore excursions we like, and head off to the computer to book 'em, Danno.

Lo and behold, they are all mostly all sold out and wait-listed! Turns out that the tours had been available for two months online already, but the travel agent had the wrong email address and we never got any updates at all. Grrrr... That also explained why we hadn't got information on actually where to GO in Seattle to get the ship...it was on email!

Except for the hotel (or hosted hosted housing from any kind soul), we're pretty much set to go. It doesn't matter to me that much if we don't have anything arranged for shore excursions. I suspect SOMETHING will come around to fill our hours on land.

Maybe next year, I'll just give $2,000 to a charity that feeds children.

The country-western lessons have settled into almost a club-like scenario, which I didn't expect. No one new really wandering in. The transition over to Thursday was fairly painless, and the dancers that are there (16-18 dancers) have settled into their own learning patterns.

So tonight over dinner, Danny and I talked about it and decided we'd just move our flight to Seattle to the day of sailing, and now that's a done deed. We'll get in hours and hours before the ship sails anyway, since it's a direct flight. We'll just hightail it from the airport to Pier 30 where Holland America will be just starting to board the ms Oosterdam. Danny says the airport transfer is included, so that's a relief. Sadly, we'll miss the titillating tones of [livejournal.com profile] rletgers crooning to new soon-to-be-smitten dancers, but ah well. It was getting too complex to figure out travel logistics and housing for the one night. I was starting to afear a scenario like my June '01 Seattle trip.

Tomorrow, there's a "going away party" after work that Linda organized for the six or seven people that have left or been laid off this past year without any fanfare. It was getting pretty weird, people just going and no one even saying goodbye! Most of the folks that left or are leaving, Ashley, Sophie, Christy, Chad among them, I really enjoyed working with. Paul is such a 'one-off' as [livejournal.com profile] abqdan says that we're SUPREMELY glad he's going. What a mess that man is.

Looking forward to our last weekend before the trip...hope to get very productive and maybe I'll even finish painting the under-deck area!
