They were right!
Dec. 19th, 2006 06:46 pmThis storm had been predicted for a week...it got whippingly windy yesterday and overnight. I was disappointed that there was NO snow at all when I got up this morning. But then, the weatherfolk HAD said that when the wind calms down, it WOULD snow. And it did.
It started in earnest about 10am...the winds had calmed to perfect stillness and the snows came down heavily. By 2, the university had made the decision to shut down at 3. A snow day (sort of!) I shut everything down after my meeting, then I had to run an errand to get some barium prep for my CATscan tomorrow...very slowly, since the road had gotten treacherous. Danny amazingly caught this pic of when I pulled into the driveway and briefly lost traction on the slope!

About an hour after this picture, the snow pretty much finished for the night...

But the outdoor decor looks even more festive!
I know this isn't anything special for the colder parts of the country, but this much snow here is rare enough that it makes for excitement!
